Just finished this wee animation init

It feels like this has more 'life' in it than other ones I've done before. was thinking about all the principles of animation this time: timing, stretch and squash and overlap...

Week 5 - History & Theory

Whoaooaooaoaa!! wadafuck? was 10 mins early for lecture today which gave me enough time to get a bit bacon, sausage and hash brown. sorted!

the strict drink & drugs regime has paid off and I am fully reaping the rewards of a semi-healthy lifestyle. keep it up gabe...

the theme of this weeks seminar was ideology and sumit else which i hadnt read. ideology was interesting (need to think of another word apart from interesting to express things which are interesting)... as far as i can see, ideology is a social construct which is a link between the self-perception of an individual or society and the socio-economic structure itself.

Bouncing Ball in Maya (not the 2012 shit)

Got a ball bouncing in virtual reality... wooooo. It's not that amazing, but you can obviously see where this is leading. Everything starts from something simple I suppose. You need to know the fundamentals before you can get mental with it. Keep it simple, keep it fun. I'm slowly starting to sound like nathan barley, fuck!

here's the ball anyway...

(Having probs uploading this video so if there's nowt here, its cos blogger is being a bitch)

Life Drawing

It's been a while since I done any life drawing (april) so found it a bit stiff trying to draw again.

here's some of the work from last week. (or was it the week before?)

I think I need to work on the line weight here. There's an eqal weight throughout the figures which doesn't represent the true force of the pose. yah.

I like this one because of the use of foreshortening but there's some thing wrong with the left arm and the body in general feels a bit stiff.

My favourite of the lot though.

The legs are a bit too wee in this one but the general feel is probably the most 'life-like' out of the lot.

Another more life-like drawing. I think the more I drew the better it got (hopefully).

Well, that's the first of the life-drawing class. More to come tomorrow... I hope it's a female model. They're so much more interesting. ;)

First week at Falmouth Animation course init bruv, yaget me...

Well, missed the first week and a half of lectures and studio time so off to a good start.

Will have to come back to this and fill in what I've actually done. Will defo do that tomorrow, when I have a brain...
